Cummins India marks 60 years of powering India's construction industry at CII Excon 2022

Cummins India is this week celebrating 60 years of its presence in India by exhibiting its cutting-edge solutions for the construction equipment industry at CII Excon 2022 (Hall 4 – Stall no A 22) in Bangalore.

The 17-21 May exhibition also marks the commencement of 60 years of Cummins in India campaign to celebrate the brand's legacy and fulfil its promise of creating a more prosperous world for its stakeholders. The company has been a leading power solution provider in India for more than 60 years and more than 100 years internationally.

At CII Excon, Cummins is showcasing its B4.5 (121 to 173hp) & B6.7 (173 to 260 hp) engines, which are compliant with CEV BSIV regulations. These products are capable and scalable to the next emission level of CEV BS V and CEMM BS IV/V.

In addition, Cummins provides a diverse range of power solutions to the construction equipment industry. Cummins' joint venture partners Valvoline Cummins and Fleetguard Filtrum are also displaying their products at the stall, truly demonstrating the spirit of 'OneCummins'.

B4.5 CEV BSIV units provide 121hp to 173hp rating and are suitable for soil compactor, 14-20-tonne excavator, 3-3.5-tonne wheel loader, and paver & motor grader applications. This engine is said to provide best-in-class fluid economy as compared to 6-cylinder engines and has covered more than 18,000 hours of test cell and field validation in India.

B6.7 is Cummins' biggest-selling global product. The engine is developed for CEV BSIV, offering 173 to 260hp ratings. This product is most suitable for motor grader, 5-tonne wheeled loaders, 25-35-tonne excavator, crane, and harvester applications. This engine provides best-in-class performance, reliability, and total cost of operation (TCO) in this power range. In India, Cummins is using B6.7 BSVI engine for on-highway applications as well, and to date, Cummins has sold more than 90,000 of these engines meeting advanced emissions.

Cummins is also featuring their ultra-high efficiency after-treatment system – a 9-inch Single Module. The Single Module is up to 70% smaller & 40% lighter compared to systems having similar architecture in comparable markets with improved NOx conversion efficiency that removes over 99% of all particulate matter by weight and count. The Single Module is optimised with a liquid-only, freeze-robust UL2.2 dosing system which significantly improves reliability. The Single Module is 'Made in India' with 70%-plus localised parts.

Cummins is also showing its new and enhanced 250kVA QSB6.7 genset. This genset comes with a full authority electronic engine and a compact footprint that meets the latest emission norms without any after-treatment device. All the major components of the genset: the engine, alternator, control system and canopy are designed, manufactured, and tested in-house.

Cummins in India provides leading aftermarket support and has an extensive service support network that offers a complete range of service needs such as engine health checks, maintenance services, repair services, and hassle-free Cummins Warranty administration.

At CII Excon, Cummins India is also displaying its funnel fuel filters, a new heavy-duty, fast-flow filter in a funnel that separates harmful free water and contamination from gasoline, diesel, heating oil, and kerosene. This product was introduced in 2021. Additionally, Cummins' consumables, genuine parts, and overhaul kits will also be showcased.
